The committee consists of Japanese personages from all walks of life, including Fumihiro Himori, chairman of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, and Kenichi Ogami, secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea.

Fumihiro Himori was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

It decided to arrange a meeting praising the personality of the President as a great man and his leadership feats on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of his demise.
