They were the delegation of the Oceania committee to commemorate the 20th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung and the 3rd anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il led by Co-Secretary General Raymond Ferguson, national secretary of the Australia-DPRK Association for Friendship and Culture, and a home-visiting group of students of Korean high schools in Japan headed by Sin Kil Ung, principal of Tokyo Korean Middle and High School.

They placed bunches of flowers before the statues and paid tribute to them.
