At the inaugural meeting of the committee for remembering the President held in Barquisimeto City of Lara State in Venezuela on June 30, Omar Lopez said:

The President was born into a poor family and embarked upon the road of revolution in his early years. He was a savior of the Korean nation who liberated Korea by waging the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle for 20 years.

He was a brilliant strategist who wisely led the army and people and won a brilliant victory in the war which was ignited by the U.S. imperialists to stifle the DPRK in the early 1950s.

He was also a genius of creation and construction who built the DPRK into a powerful country independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence on the debris of war.

He most successfully settled the issue of succession to the revolutionary cause and opened a bright prospect of invariably carrying forward the banner of socialism and revolutionary cause.

Today the Korean people are led by Marshal Kim Jong Un who is identical to the President. They are stepping up the building of an economic power while adhering to the anti-imperialist independent stand.

To support the just cause of the Korean people is our basic duty as we are standing on the common front against imperialism.
