The participants placed a floral basket and bouquets before the mosaics depicting the portraits of smiling Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in Chongjin City, North Hamgyong Province and paid tribute to them.

Speeches were made at the meeting attended by the captain and crewmen of the Kiribati-flagged ship New Global.

The speakers said the President was an outstanding and seasoned statesman as he performed great exploits for the Korean revolution and the cause of global independence. They went on:

The greatest exploit performed by the President was that he founded the immortal Juche idea, clearly indicating the road to be followed by humankind.

He was the peerless patriot who devoted his all to the country and its people and happiness of all generations all his life.

Kim Jong Il energetically led the drive for glorifying the DPRK as Kim Il Sung's dignified Korea during the whole period of his revolutionary career.

The speakers expressed belief that the career and exploits of the President would last forever and remain more shining thanks to Marshal Kim Jong Un.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
