Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Hyon Yong Chol, Kim Ki Nam and other senior party, state and army officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the party, armed forces and power bodies, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials in the fields of the preservation of revolutionary relics, science, education, literature and arts, public health and media, persons of distinguished services, bereaved families of revolutionary martyrs and working people in Pyongyang.

Also present were delegations of overseas Koreans and other compatriots and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Yang Hyong Sop, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, made a report.

The revolutionary life of Kim Hyong Jik was a scared one characterized by the noble idea of "Jiwon" (aim high) and the struggle to materialize it, the reporter said, adding:

The idea of aim high represents the revolutionary outlook on life which calls for finding true worth and happiness in the struggle for the country and the nation and the indomitable revolutionary spirit that Korea's independence should be achieved by the Korean people at any cost by waging a struggle generation after generation.

Kim Hyong Jik's revolutionary life serves as a noble example to be followed by the army and people of the DPRK forever.

Referring to his exploits, the reporter went on:

His life was a great revolutionary life as it reflected a high sense of responsibility for the future of the nation and the idea of uninterrupted revolution that a revolution should be carried out generation after generation.

Possessed of ardent love for the future of the revolution, he built schools in different parts of the country even under the conditions of waging a hard struggle for leading the anti-Japanese independence movement and worked heart and soul for the education of younger generation.

He was the outstanding leader who led the anti-Japanese national liberation movement in Korea along the road of national independence and the great pioneer who made a switchover in the anti-Japanese national liberation movement in Korea to a proletarian revolution from the nationalist movement.

He was the outstanding revolutionary who provided immensely precious wealth for the pioneering of the revolutionary cause of Juche and its victorious advance with his rare foresight.

The sacred revolutionary activities and immortal feats of Kim Hyong Jik who devoted his all to the struggle for the independence of the country, freedom and liberation of the people and bright future of the Korean revolution are brilliantly recorded in the history of the country and will always remain shining along with the prosperity of the great Paektusan nation.

His idea of aim high and his desire were translated into brilliant realities by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

The Korean revolution which has made a dynamic advance, giving immense shine to the idea of aim high, is greeting the new era of history for the final victory under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The reporter called for eternally glorifying Kim Hyong Jik's idea of "Jiwon" and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche and the revolutionary cause of Songun started in Mt. Paektu generation after generation.
