Present there were Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), So Chung On, director of the Department for International Affairs and Reunification, Ri Tong Je, chairman of the association, and its officials and members.

Read out at the meeting was the congratulatory message sent by Marshal Kim Jong Un to the 23rd Congress of Chongryon.

Ri Tong Je noted in his report that the association has made positive contributions to putting spurs to the nation-wide movement for reunification by strengthening solidarity and alliance with compatriots in the north, the south and abroad despite the moves of the anti-reunification forces.

He said that the association would more dynamically conduct political information service to put an end to outsiders' interference and realize the independent and peaceful reunification of the country with the concerted efforts of compatriots, and take the lead in the nationwide struggle to usher in the second June 15 era.
