Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday dedicates an editorial to the 120th anniversary of birth of indomitable revolutionary fighter Kim Hyong Jik. Calling on all party members, service personnel and other people to dynamically struggle for the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche and the cause of building a thriving nation, always cherishing the idea of Jiwon (aim high), the editorial notes: Kim Hyong Jik, who was born into a patriotic family of Mangyongdae on July 10, 1894, was an outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement in Korea who set forth the idea of Jiwon in the dark days under the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists over Korea and ushered in a new history of switching from the nationalist movement to the proletarian movement. The idea of Jiwon serves as an ideological and mental motive power for the steady advance of the Korean revolution. It represents the revolutionary outlook on life that finds true worth and happiness in the struggle for the country and the nation, and an indomitable revolutionary spirit calling for liberating the country at any cost by fighting against the Japanese imperialists generation after generation. True to his noble idea, President Kim Il Sung embarked upon the road of the revolution in his early years, defeated the gangster-like Japanese imperialists, accomplished the historic cause of national liberation and built most advantageous Korean-style socialism centered on the popular masses. The valuable legacy, the idea of Jiwon, could shed its brighter rays thanks to leader Kim Jong Il. The idea is still given a steady continuity in the new century of Juche. It is an eternal treasure of Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea and a banner of struggle that should be upheld forever. |
