The notice said that the DPRK, as it clarified in the statement of its government, decided to send a players group and a large cheering squad to the 17th Asian Games slated to take place in Inchon, south Korea in order to improve the inter-Korean relations, provide the atmosphere for national unity and cheer its players.

It said that the DPRK proposed to hold the north-south working-level talks of officials concerned either in the north's portion or in the south's portion of Panmunjom on around July 15 to discuss the issues arising in the DPRK players group's participation in the games and the dispatch of the cheering squad.
