The UN Population Fund raised the theme of World Population Day this year as "Investing in Young People", calling upon every country to pay deeper social attention to young people and pool efforts so that they can receive high-level education, advance into society in good health and give fullest play to their ability, the paper notes, adding:

Colorful events including a seminar on the theme "Investing in Young People" are being held in the presence of officials of relevant organs and representatives of international bodies.

The Population Centre of the DPRK published a special issue of Population Newsletter helpful to settling the population issue in cooperation with the UN Population Fund.

The DPRK will as ever make positive efforts to settle the population issue and attain the UN millennium development goals and strengthen cooperation with international bodies.
