From the very day of the division of Korea the President energetically worked to give the pleasure of reunification to the people at an early date by shouldering upon himself the important duty of reunifying the nation.

Taking to heart more than anyone else the misfortune of the Korean nation separated by outside forces, the President put forward the three principles of national reunification, the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo, the ten-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and other most just proposals for reunification and wisely led the whole nation to implement them, thereby laying a firm foundation for the reunification of Korea.

All south Koreans yearn for the President as his policies for reunification fully reflect the patriotic idea and will and love for the country, nation and people.

In fact, the great life of the President, benevolent father of the Korean nation, was the patriotic one that will shine long in history as he made tireless efforts for the cause of Korea's reunification.
