The statement said that the principled stand clarified by the DPRK government in a statement is the most just and patriotic proposal for reunification which reflects the desire of all Koreans for the nation's security, peace and prosperity and the requirements of the era.

Owing to the south Korean authorities' policy of confrontation with the DPRK, hostility and confrontation have reached an extreme phase on the Korean peninsula and the situation prevailing there is so serious that even a trifling friction may lead to a dangerous conflict and national destruction.

The south Korean authorities should opt for mending the relations with the DPRK from the new viewpoint and a new stand for the destiny of the nation.

They should stop at once the joint military drills for aggression to be staged in collusion with outside forces to stifle the north by military force, properly understanding that they are the dangerous acts of bringing a nuclear disaster to the Koreans.

The association and Koreans in China will carry on the struggle to achieve the independent reunification of the country under the uplifted banner of the three charters for national reunification and the historic June 15 joint declaration provided by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.
