Chongryon Officials Back Patriotic Desire of DPRK Government

Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- Officials of organizations of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan issued statements on July 9 in support of the statement of the DPRK government. Kang Chu Ryon, chairperson of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, said that the statement released by the DPRK government on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the last signature put by President Kim Il Sung to the historic document related to national reunification in his lifetime is the patriotic proposal for national reunification as it proposes taking practical steps to bring about a new turning phase of the independent reunification of the country. Ri Tong Je, chairman of the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification, said that the south Korean authorities should positively respond to the statement of the DPRK government as it clarified its principled stand with its noble sense of responsibility for paving a wide avenue for improving the north-south relations and achieving the independent reunification of the country. Ri Jong Man, managing director of the Standing Council of the Korean Federation of Workers in Commerce in Japan, declared that all officials and businessmen belonging to the organization would remain loyal to the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un and turn out in the nationwide struggle to bring about a new turning phase of the independent reunification of the country, the long-cherished desire of the Korean nation. Kim Yong Ju, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan, expressed the determination of the youth and students in Japan to unite close in the spirit of By Our Nation Itself in order to take the lead in the sacred struggle to translate into reality the offer of the DPRK government for national reunification, reflecting the patriotic desire and soul for national reunification, the long-cherished desire of the Korean nation. Ri Yong Su, chairman of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan, said that the statement of the DPRK government calling for bringing about a new turning phase of improving the inter-Korean ties and achieving national reunification is a fair and aboveboard proposal which no Korean should deny. |
