The achievements include a 3-D map on fish ways in the West Sea of Korea and Tanphung 1.0, an aid program for forecast of catch state in the East Sea of Korea.

Yon Chol, an official of the Academy, told KCNA:

The 3-D map makes it possible to conduct the survey of fishing grounds and fishing on a more scientific basis. It is applicable to such various fields as survey and protection of aquatic resources, development of marine resources and environmental protection.

Tanphung 1.0 helps grasp the possible change of marine situation, the amount of main migrating fishes and their migration time and the situation of fisheries in an all-round way.

With the help of those programs, many fishery stations are now registering satisfactory results in fishing while consuming less fuel and materials.
