Kim Il Sung Remembered in Foreign Countries

Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings, film shows and photo and book exhibitions were held in Russia, Poland, India and Guinea from July 4 to 6 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung. Displayed on the front walls of the venues of the events were portraits of the smiling President and leader Kim Jong Il. On display there were photos documenting their immortal exploits. Also displayed there were their works and photos and books introducing the army and people of the DPRK building a thriving nation. Films shown included the Korean film "Eternal Treasures in Praise of Sun". The first secretary of the Nakhodka City Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and other speakers praised the President as the prominent leader and outstanding political activist of the 20th century and benevolent father of all people who devoted himself to the country's prosperity, people's happiness and global independence all his life. Though he passed away, his exploits for the Korean revolution and world revolution will be kept forever in the hearts of humankind, the first secretary stressed. The chairman of the Tradition Association of the Polish People's Army said that the august name of the President will shine as the eternal banner of victory in the history of human thought and the popular masses' struggle along with the immortal Juche idea. Speakers including the general secretary of the Indian National Congress Party and the secretary of the National Council of the Communist Party of India lauded the President as the greatest man produced by humankind. The chairman of the Guinean National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, the chairman of the Guinean Society for the Study of the Juche Literary Idea and other speakers said that world progressive humankind reveres the President as his idea and exploits are great. |
