Chicken Soup Boiled with Ginseng, Traditional Korean Dish

Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The Korean people have long taken various kinds of nutritious foods in midsummer to keep their health from sultriness. One of them is chicken soup boiled with ginseng. In this regard, Jo Tae Il, a researcher of the Folklore Institute under the Academy of Social Sciences in the DPRK, told KCNA: The dish is cooked with medium-size hen and ginseng, jujube and glutinous rice put in it. It helps improve appetite and recover from anemia. This soup tops the menu at local restaurants along with tangogi (dogmeat) soup in hot weather. |
