Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. released a statement on July 15 accusing the south Korean ruling quarters of sidestepping the issue of instituting a special law on probing the truth about the ferry Sewol disaster proposed by the families of its victims. The statement recalled that the bill signed by millions of people is in danger of miscarriage due to the opposition of the "Saenuri Party." It expressed disillusionment with the double-dealing attitude of the chief executive and the lawmakers from the "Saenuri Party" dragging on the probe into the truth about the disaster and feigning ignorance of it though they promised to make efforts during the June 4 local elections. The statement urged the "Saenuri Party" not to turn its face away from the proposal made by the people any longer, declaring that the special law should be instituted to have the grudge of the dead students settled and the pain of the bereaved families alleviated. |
