The statement accused the present regime of setting out to crack down on the Teachers Union. It is aimed to eliminate the union and put educational circle under control, it noted.

It is an unreasonable act that the authorities are intent to put internet activities of the union under control and arrest those teachers who participated in the actions for condemning the incompetence of the regime as regards the ferry Sewol disaster and calling the resignation of the chief executive, the statement charged.

It said that the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. would wage a dynamic action to defend the Teachers Union in solidarity with organizations at home and abroad.
