KPA Service Personnel Visit Kunja Revolutionary Site

Songchon, July 21 (KCNA) -- Service personnel of the Korean People's Army visited the Kunja Revolutionary Site in Songchon County, South Phyongan Province on Monday with the approach of the anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (July 27, 1953). The site is associated with the exploits President Kim Il Sung performed by personally guiding the production of munitions on the spot and laying a solid foundation for self-reliant defence industry during the war. Climbing up a safety ladder in the tunnel from whose ceiling water was dropping, the President talked to officials and workers there and took deep care of weapons production, their study and living. The visitors laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of the President in the revolutionary site and paid tribute to him. After being briefed on the site, they went round the monument to the on-the-spot guidance of the President and the monument to revolutionary activities of leader Kim Jong Il. They visited the Kunja Revolutionary Museum, Mortar Shop, Tools Shop, Grenade Shop, Bullets Shop and Submachine Gun Shop. They looked round materials and relics showing the spirit of defending the leader unto death, the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude and revolutionary optimism of the workers in Kunja-ri. Meanwhile, an oratorical meeting for explaining the greatness of the peerless great persons of Mt. Paektu took place before the statue of the President on the same day. The performers praised the exploits the peerless great persons performed by leading the great Fatherland Liberation War to shining victory and developing the Juche-oriented defence industry in prologue "May monument to war victory shine," chorus "Thinking of victory," group poem recital "Forward to the final victory!" and others. |
