Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- Under the prevailing situation where the U.S. and forces hostile towards the DPRK have become evermore undisguised in their challenge for aggression, the peace and security on the Korean peninsula are guaranteed by the DPRK's powerful military deterrent, say newspapers here Tuesday. It is the consistent line and policy of the DPRK to bolster up the military capability for self-defence in every way and no one has the right to say this or that about it, says Rodong Sinmun in an article. The DPRK's measure to bolster up its military capability is a legitimate exercise of the right to self-defence to protect the destiny of the country and the nation. The DPRK values the dignity and sovereignty as its life and soul and will never pardon anyone who infringes upon them. The DPRK's measures to bolster up its military capability serve as a powerful means to firmly guarantee the peace and security on the peninsula. Peace can be preserved only when one is strong enough to prevent anyone from attacking one. It is guaranteed by one's own force. We had already adopted the line of simultaneously pushing forward economic construction and the building of nuclear force as a strategic line and solemnly clarified it internally and externally. The tremendous self-defence capability built by the DPRK is neither something to be bartered for U.S. dollars nor a political bargaining chip to be put on the negotiating table with hostile forces seeking to disarm the DPRK. The DPRK's self-defence capability is like the precious life of the nation which can not be bartered for anything and the eternal wealth common to the nation as it guarantees the prosperity of a reunified country. Minju Joson in an article says that no matter how the situation may change and what challenges it may face, the DPRK will bolster up its deterrent for self-defence in every way, defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country and preserve the peace on the peninsula by its own efforts. |
