The work published on July 22, Juche 73 (1984) deals with the essence of the socialist education, position of the educational work in socialist construction and importance of developing the educational work and indicates tasks and ways for improving the contents and methods of education and its quality and successfully training the younger generation as able and competent revolutionaries.

Choe Thae Bok, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, said in a report that Kim Jong Il's work serves as an immortal militant banner to be firmly held aloft in renewing the understanding of the scientific accuracy, validity and vitality of the Juche-oriented and popular educational idea indicated by President Kim Il Sung in the theses on socialist education and reconfirming them and further developing the educational work.

Over the past three decades since the publication of the work the ideas and theories of the work have been successfully embodied and thus a revolutionary turn has taken place in the national education and the appearance of education undergone a dramatic change.

The Juche-oriented education of the DPRK greeted the period of fresh prosperity in its development thanks to Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un has developed the universal compulsory eleven-year education system provided by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il into the universal compulsory twelve-year education system.

He advanced the policy on educating all the people to be well versed in science and technology. This serves as precious guidelines for bringing about a fresh leap forward in developing the higher education of the country and training scientific and technological talents.

The reporter underscored the need to bring about a fresh revolutionary turn in the educational work and thus make a positive contribution to building a highly-civilized socialist nation.
