News Analyst Terms S. Korean Military's Cry for "Punishment" Bluff

Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- The south Korean military is now crying for "punishing" the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Amazed at a series of military drills taken by the DPRK to bolster up its self-defence capability, Han Min Gu, puppet defence minister of south Korea, told recently that if the north provokes the south will resolutely punish it, inasmuch as it will be aware of the danger of existence of its social system. His remarks can not be construed otherwise than a bluff, that gives a glimpse of the ruling crisis the south Korean authorities faced. At present the south Korean authorities are hell-bent on nuclear war exercises in league with the United States, disregarding the DPRK's proposals for improved north-south relations, which has evoked bitter criticism at home and abroad. As the ferry Sewol sank down on April 16, the south Korean authorities kicked up the "north wind" to divert elsewhere the public criticism, calling for military confrontation with the DPRK. That's why the south Korean public have denounced the military's reckless provocations as an attempt to save the regime from its ruling crisis caused by the ferry Sewol disaster and as a gamble to get on the nerves of the DPRK. The south Korean military would be well advised not to run amuck, aware of the DPRK's merciless striking power. |
