Heavy Rain to Hit DPRK

Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- Typhoon-10 that was formed in the sea east of the Philippines is now moving to the north-northwest at a speed of 20 km per hour. With a maximum speed of 18 meters per second, its central pressure is 990hPa. The typhoon will move to the north of the West Sea of Korea, causing a wind of 10 mph and heavy rain in some parts of the country on July 25-26. The rainfall will be 50 to 100 mm in the western coastal area, 40 to 70 mm in the southern part of Jagang Province and inland areas of South Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces and 30 to 50 mm in other areas. In the morning of July 26, the typhoon will trigger 120 cm-high wave in the western coastal area of Korea. |
