DPRK Supported by British Organizations
Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- The Britain-Korea Friendship Association and other progressive organizations of Britain released a joint statement on July 14 in support of the statement issued by the spokesman for the Policy Department of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK on July 12.

The joint statement termed the introduction of task force of the U.S. nuclear carrier George Washington and a group of Aegis destroyer Kidd belonging to the U.S. Third Fleet into south Korean ports a serious provocation.

This is little short of modern day "gunboat diplomacy" that earned an ill fame in the past, it said, and continued:

The U.S. should clearly understand that it can never bring to its knees socialist Korea which regards independence as its life and soul and holds high the banner of the great Juche idea and the Songun idea.

The DPRK-targeted war exercises which the U.S. is going to stage with the south Korean puppet forces with its aggression warships involved is a serious threat to peace not only on the Korean peninsula but in the rest of Asia-Pacific as they involve warships of Japan.

This clearly proves that the U.S. does not want the improvement of the inter-Korean relations as the exercises are timed to coincide with the advancement of a special proposal by the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and the publication of the statement by the DPRK government to improve the north-south relations and ensure peace on the Korean peninsula.

The U.S. is an enemy to the peace and reunification of the Korean peninsula.

We demand that the U.S. immediately withdraw its warships and stop the DPRK-targeted war exercises.
