This was an expression of the Korean people's absolute support and trust in him, the statement said, and went on:

Under his leadership last year the Korean people decisively frustrated the vicious moves of aggression by the U.S. and its south Korean puppet regime keen on stifling Juche-based socialism by force of arms.

He guided the service personnel and the people to the victory in the all-out showdown with the sworn enemy, the U.S. imperialists.

He is further bolstering up the Juche-based capability of the DPRK for self-defence on the basis of the revolutionary Songun idea.

We are confident that the Korean people will win a final victory in the struggle for national reunification and the revolutionary cause of Songun under his outstanding Songun leadership.
