The statement accused Ju Ho Yong, chairman of the Policy Committee of the "Saenuri Party," of likening the ferry Sewol sinking disaster to a traffic accident and saying that the reparation for Sewol sinking disaster should not exceed that paid to the victims of the Cheonan warship sinking case.

This is a nonsense insulting the true minds of the bereaved families desirous of the probe into the truth about the disaster, the statement said, and went on:

Sim Jae Chol, lawmaker from the "Saenuri Party," was also recently blamed for opposing the institution of a special law on the Sewol sinking disaster.

The "Saenuri Party" is turning its face away from the true minds of the bereaved families and insulting them as those just demanding reparation in a bid to block the probe.

It should stop distorting truth and making false remarks and opt for immediately instituting the special law.

If the party repeats its acts of going against the public mindset, Chongwadae and the party will have to bear responsibilities for them, the statement concluded.
