More than 2 600 products, miniatures and diagrams showcasing inventions and new technologies appreciated at ministries and national institutions, in Pyongyang and provinces (cities directly under central authority) are on display.

Among them are contact atomic force microscope, near infrared rays spectral analyzer, nutrition liquid for cultivating turf, alarm support system for monitoring intelligent phone and various other materials conducive to developing core technologies and applied science and technology at a high level and putting the national economy on a Juche, modern and scientific basis.

The exhibition will also involve lectures on technologies, scientific and technological presentation and circulation of intellectual products.

Present at the ceremony were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Jang Chol, president of the State Academy of Sciences, officials concerned, scientists, technicians and inventors.

Choe Sang Gon, chairman of the State Science and Technology Commission, made an opening address.
