The north's decision to send a players group together with a cheerleading squad to the 17th Asian Games to be held in Inchon, south Korea, will be an important occasion in improving the inter-Korean ties and defusing the distrust between the north and the south.

The south Korean regime should positively accept the offer and intention of the north from a standpoint of dialogue and cooperation, not the one of confrontation and distrust.

The Asian Games will offer an occasion of showcasing harmony and solidarity between the north and the south, it said, urging the south Korean regime to take measures for meeting the desire of all Koreans for the peaceful reunification.
