U.S. and S. Korean Forces Stage Military Drills against DPRK

Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- U.S. imperialist aggressor forces and south Korean puppet marine corps staged military exercises in Phohang, North Kyongsang Province from July 21 to August 1 under the simulated conditions of mounting a preemptive attack on the north, according to KBS of south Korea.

Involved in the drills were a large number of troops of the U.S. marines and the 1st Division of the south Korean puppet Marine Corps and at least 100 war hardware including copters, armored cars for landing, tanks. They were busy staging drills for a preemptive attack including coordinated operations for landing.

They even fired live bullets and shells during the drills.

These unending saber-rattling is aimed at stemming the strong trend of the Korean nation towards independence, peace and reunification of the country and igniting a new war on the Korean peninsula at any cost.
