The exhibition, opened on July 29, showcased the invention successes made by scientists, technicians and other people of the DPRK in the efforts to rapidly develop the core basic technologies and all other scientific and technological fields and efficiently solve the issues arising in improving the people's standard of living.

There took place a technological lecture, scientific and technological presentation and technological exchange of intellectual goods during the exhibition.

The closing ceremony was attended by Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Jang Chol, president of the State Academy of Sciences, officials concerned and scientists, technicians and inventors.

More than 100 persons were awarded gold medals.

Cups, medals and certifications were conferred on organizations, scientists, technicians and other people who proved successful at the exhibition.

Choe Sang Gon, chairman of the State Science and Technology Commission, made a closing address.
