The prosecution inflicted heavy penalties on the suspects of the plotted rebellion case including lawmaker from an opposition party Ri Sok Gi, the statement said, strongly denouncing the act of painting normal party activities as espionage activities through false investigation and fabrication.

The brazen-faced prosecution which sentenced innocent people to death by groundlessly charging them with spy activities in the past is repeating those crimes, it said, and went on:

The prosecution has to do away with the bad habit of inflicting heavy penalties on those with whom it is displeased on charges of spy activities.

The court should call to task the prosecution and let it set free the detainees.
