Talks Held between FMs of DPRK, Vietnam

Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- Talks between DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong, who is leading the DPRK government delegation on a visit to Vietnam, and Pham Binh Minh, deputy prime minister and concurrently foreign minister of Vietnam, were held at the state guest house of its government on Aug. 6. Present at the talks from the DPRK side were members of the delegation, the DPRK ambassador to Vietnam and his embassy officials, and from the Vietnamese side were officials concerned of the Foreign Ministry. At the talks both sides exchanged their views on the issue of developing the bilateral ties of friendship and matters of mutual concern. Pham Binh Minh warmly congratulated supreme leader Kim Jong Un upon his reelection as first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK at the First Session of the 13th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK held in last April. He hoped that the Korean people would achieve great successes in their efforts to accomplish the cause of building a thriving socialist nation under the wise leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea led by Kim Jong Un. He noted that it is the consistent stand of the Vietnamese party and government to invariably set store by the traditional relations of friendship provided and cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung and continue boosting the ties in the common interests of the two peoples. Vietnam will always back the DPRK in its stance to peacefully reunify the country by federal formula free from foreign interference by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation, he said. That day he gave a reception for the DPRK government delegation. On the same day Ri Su Yong separately met and had a talk with Hoang Binh Quan, chairman of the Commission for External Affairs of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Cao Duc Phat, minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Nguyen Cam Tu, vice-minister of Industry and Commerce, and placed a wreath before the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh. |
