Russia-Cross Korean Peninsula Car Riding Group Visits Area of Mt. Paektu

| Samjiyon, August 10 (KCNA) -- A Russia-cross Korean Peninsula car riding group headed by Kim Chil Song, first vice-chairman of the International United Confederation of Koreans who is chairman of the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia, visited the area of Mt. Paektu Sunday. The group is taking part in the "Paektu-Halla car riding for supporting the peace and reunification of the Korean peninsula". Members of the group laid bouquets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung at the Samjiyon Grand Monument and the mosaic in the Paektusan Secret Camp depicting the images of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu and paid tribute to them. They visited leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp and went round historic relics, being briefed on the fact that he was born as the son of guerrilla, possessed of the spirit of Mt. Paektu, and grew up while hearing the gunfire of the anti-Japanese war as a lullaby. They had a photo session in token of their visit to the old home in the Paektusan Secret Camp and went round the Headquarters log cabin where Kim Il Sung stayed, etc. |
