National Liberation War Based on Guerilla Warfare

Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung had made all his efforts to find the method of armed struggle fit for the specific situation in Korea from the first days of his revolutionary activities. At the Mingyuegou Meeting held in December Juche 20 (1931), Kim Il Sung set forth the unique military strategic idea that the anti-Japanese armed struggle should be based on guerilla warfare. It was a great decision that he adopted the guerilla warfare as the principal method of struggle for national liberation war against the Japanese imperialists. The President regarded all Koreans' active participation in the warfare and their support to it as the fundamental condition for the victory in the guerilla warfare. Thanks to this idea, the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, which the Japanese imperialists called a "drop in the ocean", could lay a firm mass foundation for the armed struggle, strengthen the kinship with popular masses during the guerilla warfare and thus liberate the country from the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists under the leadership of Kim Il Sung. During the anti-Japanese revolutionary war, the guerilla warfare fully showed its validity and efficiency as a method of armed struggle to destroy the powerful imperialists' army by means of ideological and tactical superiority. |
