Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- The All-People Measure Council for Sewol Disaster of south Korea held an emergency meeting on situation in Seoul on Monday at which it declared an action demanding the institution of a special law for thoroughly probing the truth about the ferry disaster, according to the south Korean internet paper Chamsesang. The organization confirmed that it would stage an all-people rally in Seoul on Friday with the attendance of 100,000 people. "Sewol" buses would run across south Korea on the day for ensuring the rally, it held. It would expand the bereaved families' hunger sit-in to the people's one, it said, adding that members of labor, academic, legal and religions circles and other citizens would join in the sit-in. At the end of the emergency meeting it held a press conference. The special law on the ferry Sewol disaster recently agreed upon by the ruling and opposition parties turns down the demand of the bereaved families and other people and fails to invest the fact-finding committee with the independent rights to investigate and indict those responsible for the disaster, it charged. It demanded the ruling and opposition parties retract the agreement reached in camera but hold renegotiations. It said different circles would fight it out to probe the truth behind the ferry disaster. |
