That day the Seoul High Court held a trial on an appeal on the case of attempted rebellion at which it gave Ri Sok Gi a verdict of not guilty on the suspicion of the case but sentenced him to 9 years in jail and 7 years of suspension of qualifications on charges of agitating attempted rebellion and violating the "Security Law."

One cannot but suspect this ruling was made by the court authorities for fear of consequences to be entailed by the verdict of not guilty, the editorial charged.
