The statement:

The august name of leader Kim Jong Il will shine forever along with the Songun leadership.

It is because Songun comprehensively reflects his political idea and leadership mode for socialism and independence.

He applied original Songun politics to all fields on the basis of a scientific insight into the situation which prevailed at the grim period when socialism collapsed in various countries in the 1990s due to the perfidy of modern revisionists and the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces who desperately worked to stifle socialist Korea.

He trained the Korean People's Army to be an invincible army under the uplifted banner of Songun and remarkably bolstered up the national power.

The DPRK met the challenge of the imperialist allied forces by dint of ideological might and strong military muscle.

Thanks to his Songun revolutionary leadership, the national defence capability grew stronger and many monumental edifices sprang up in the DPRK.

It was the greatest of his feats that he met the challenges of the U.S. imperialists and their allied forces and defended socialism.

He is deeply revered by the Korean people and the world progressive peoples for his shining Songun leadership feats.
