During the anti-Japanese revolutionary war, he commanded many battles to defend the Soviet Union with arms. Under his leadership, the Korean People's Revolutionary Army had harassed the rear of the Japanese imperialists through powerful military and political offensives to check and frustrate their invasion upon the Soviet Union.

In the 1960s, he afforded sincere support to the Cuban people in their struggle to defend the country from the U.S. imperialists' aggression after the collapse of the pro-American dictatorship in Cuba. The DPRK's assistance to Cuba had continued whenever the latter suffered difficulties.

During the Vietnamese war, Kim Il Sung rendered unsparing military aids to the Vietnamese people in their anti-U.S. war of resistance for national salvation. At that time, Ho Chi Minh, the then Vietnamese president, praised Kim Il Sung as the savior of destiny and his real brother for heartily assisting Vietnam.

Kim Il Sung had always paid deep attention to the struggle of developing countries like Egypt, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Nicaragua and Tanzania to strengthen national power and build a new society, giving sincere aids and support to them.

The great feats performed by Kim Il Sung for global independence will be remembered forever by the world progressives.
