Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- The anti-Japanese revolutionary war led by President Kim Il Sung ended in the victory of the Korean nation with the unconditional capitulation of the Japanese imperialists. Kim Il Sung was the great national liberator who had accomplished the historic cause of national liberation. After embarking upon the road of revolution in his early teens, Kim Il Sung formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union, a genuine new-type revolutionary organization and the first of its kind in Korea, on October 17, 1926. The formation of the DIU was a historic declaration heralding the start of the Korean revolution. Later, he had formed many revolutionary organizations like the Saenal Children's Union, Young Communist League of Korea, Peasants' Union, Anti-Japanese Trade Union and Anti-Japanese Women's Association, rallying the people of all social standings closely behind those organizations. In his report "The Path of the Korean Revolution" made at the Kalun Meeting (June 30, 1930-July 2, 1930), he indicated the revolutionary theory and principle of Juche idea that Koreans are responsible for the Korean revolution and the Korean revolution should be carried on by the Korean people in keeping with the specific conditions of the country. The creation of the Juche idea made it possible to give a scientific definition to the character and mission of the Korean revolution and its motive force and main target. Kim Il Sung also set forth the revolutionary lines and policies including the line of anti-Japanese armed struggle. According to the lines and policies, the Society for Rallying Comrades, the first party organization, and the Korean Revolutionary Army, the first armed organization, were formed in July 1930. At the meeting held in Mingyuegou, China in December 1931, he advanced the idea of waging an armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists through guerrilla warfare. And he found the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army, the first Juche-type revolutionary armed forces of the Korean nation, on April 25, 1932. Under his wise leadership, the anti-Japanese guerrilla army had grown stronger, winning victories in all battles against the enemies. During the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, Kim Il Sung had paid deep attention to rallying all Koreans into a single force under the banner of national liberation. He found the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland, a permanent organization for anti-Japanese national united front, at a meeting held in Tongjiang, Fusong County, China in May 1936. The association had embraced broad masses of people including workers, peasants, intellectuals, businessmen and religionists, encouraging them to take active part in the struggle against the Japanese imperialists and positively support the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA). On August 9, 1945, Kim Il Sung issued an order to launch the final attack on the Japanese imperialists. According to his order, the KPRA advanced towards the homeland, annihilating the Japanese imperialist aggression troops. On August 15, 1945, Japan announced its unconditional capitulation. And the Korean nation accomplished the historic cause of national liberation under the leadership of Kim Il Sung. To hand down to posterity the undying feats Kim Il Sung performed for achieving the national liberation, the Arch of Triumph was built in Pyongyang in April 1982. |
