Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt. Paektu Goes on
Hyesan, August 16 (KCNA) -- Officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and information workers of its primary organizations across the country made a study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu from August 8 to 16 to mark the 54th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.

They laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung at the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo, Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site, Chongbong Bivouac, shore of Lake Samji and the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area and the mosaic depicting the images of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu at the Paektusan secret camp and paid tribute to them.

They looked round the command post of the battle, post office, sub-county office, the police post of the Japanese imperialists and others at the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site before visiting the Spring Site in Poso-ri, Junghung Tableland, Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong Bivouac and Konchang Bivouac.

They toured the Paektu Hall, Chonji Health Complex, Pegaebong Noodle House, et.c in Samjiyon township.

They visited the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area and went round the Mupho Angling Site, Kanbaeksan Secret Camp and others before climbing Mt. Paektu, the holy mountain of the revolution. Commanding a bird's-eye view of Lake Chon and thick forest of Mt. Paektu, they hardened their will to carry the revolutionary cause of Juche to completion under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

They visited the Paektusan Secret Camp and held an oath-taking meeting before Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp.

At the end of the meeting they looked round historic relics preserved there with much care, being briefed on the fact that Kim Jong Il was born as the Shining Star of Mt. Paektu and grew up, hearing gunfire during the great anti-Japanese war.

During the study tour they held anti-Japanese guerrilla-style information and agitation contest, question-and-answer study contest and other colorful political and cultural events.
