Ulji Freedom Guardian Starts in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet warmongers kicked off the large-scale Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises for mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK across south Korea on Monday despite the strong protest and denunciation at home and abroad, according to Yonhap News of south Korea. To be involved in the drills which will last till August 29 are U.S. imperialist aggressors including those based overseas and huge forces of the puppet army. The "tailored deterrence strategy", a scenario for preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK, will be formally applied to the exercises for the first time, a clear indication of their belligerent and dangerous nature. The above-said saber-rattling created such dangerous situation on the Korean peninsula that a war may break out any moment. |
