Korea was liberated from the outrageous Japanese imperialists' colonial rule on August 15, 1945 thanks to the anti-Japanese armed struggle organized by President Kim Il Sung, the sun of the nation and gifted strategist.

Under his guidance the Korean People's Revolutionary Army staged the armed struggle without state-backing home front in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, guided by the Juche idea and the Songun idea.

He resolutely rejected flunkeyism and independently waged the armed struggle by relying on the strength of the Korean people.

The victory in the anti-Japanese armed struggle proved in practice the truth of the Songun idea that national liberation can be achieved by the armed struggle only.

This victory greatly encouraged the peoples of the colonial countries in their struggle for national independence.

The shining victory in the anti-Japanese armed struggle helped the Korean people be liberated from the colonial rule of the ferocious Japanese imperialists and lead a new independent life, new hopeful life.

Now the Korean people are working hard to firmly protect the gains of the revolution, build a thriving socialist nation and achieve the reunification of the country under the ever-victorious Songun leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un who is successfully carrying forward the revolutionary cause of the President and leader Kim Jong Il.
