Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- KBS of south Korea on August 17 reported about the disclosure of more data on hair-raising atrocities committed by the Japanese imperialists during World War II. Unit 731 of the Imperial Japanese Army, an ill-famed germ warfare unit stationed in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, spread a lot of rats it had used for germ cultivation in different places and germ on grain before their defeat in 1945. As a result, pest quickly spread around the area where it was stationed, leaving at least 7,000 persons dead. It was disclosed by a U.S. document that the Japanese imperialists stationed in different parts of Marshall Islands in 1945 killed Koreans who were drafted for labor conscription and ate their flesh. The tests conducted by them on bodies of POWs were disclosed by the recorded interrogation made by an army surgeon of the Imperial Japanese Army who witnessed the atrocity at that time. Reporting about this fact, the broadcasting service said such tests conducted on POWs by the Imperial Japanese Army during the war were too horrible to believe that it was done by human beings. |
