Present there were the secretary general and other members of the organization, Pak Chang Yul, DPRK ambassador to Cuba, and his embassy officials.

The participants laid a floral basket before the portrait and paid tribute to it.

The secretary general said:

We are celebrating together with the Korean people the significant day when Korea was liberated under the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung.

He liberated the people from aggression, exploitation and plunder by the Japanese imperialists and built a genuine people's country.

He also rehabilitated the country which was reduced to ashes due to the U.S. imperialists and successfully led socialist construction, building a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence.

Now the pro-U.S. puppet regime of south Korea is kicking off nuclear war exercises against the DPRK in collusion with the U.S.

We fully support the DPRK's cause of reunification and will continue efforts to boost friendship and solidarity with it.

We sincerely wish Marshal Kim Jong Un good health and successes in his work for achieving the prosperity of the country against imperialism.
