Speeches were made by Ri Myong Gil, chairman of the Central Committee of the UAWK, and Ho Tok Bok, chairperson of the Pyongyang City Committee of the union.

Speakers said Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership at the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the Korean People's Army on August 25, Juche 49 (1960) marked a historic event which declared the succession to the revolutionary cause of Songun and the fresh start of his Songun leadership.

After adopting the Songun politics as a main political mode under socialism, Kim Jong Il set up a new state machinery with the National Defence Commission as its pivot and thus wisely led all state affairs in such a manner that they were administered on the principle of giving precedence to military affairs, the speakers recalled, adding:

Thanks to Songun, the service personnel and people of the DPRK could reliably defend the country, revolution and gains of socialism by their own efforts and with their arms, the prosperity of the country was brought about and a rosy future of the nation carved out.

Thanks to the exploits he performed by laying a solid foundation for carrying forward and implementing the Juche-oriented revolutionary cause of Songun which started in Mt. Paektu, they are now vigorously advancing toward the final victory in the drive for the building of a thriving nation under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The speakers underlined the need for all the officials of the union and agricultural workers to accomplish generation after generation the revolutionary cause of Juche which was pioneered and advanced by dint of Songun, united close around Kim Jong Un.
