He visited Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the Korean People's Army (KPA) on August 25, Juche 49 (1960). This was a historic event which declared the succession to the Songun revolutionary cause and fresh start of the Songun leadership.

He led the nuclear stand-off with the U.S. and the struggle for defending socialism to victory, thus protecting the sovereignty and dignity of the country and the nation with his energetic Songun revolutionary leadership. He honorably defended socialism of Juche and achieved a shining victory under the uplifted banner of Songun when the army and people of the DPRK were standing at the crossroads of whether they become an independent people, independent guards and victors or they will become colonial slaves of the imperialists again.

By providing his Songun revolutionary leadership, he firmly defended the sovereignty of the nation and laid a foundation for winning a victory in the cause of national reunification.

Thanks to the powerful Songun army of the DPRK all attempts of the warmongers at home and abroad to ignite a new war on the Korean peninsula have been shattered and peace of the country and security of the nation are firmly ensured.
