Since he inspected the Tabaksol (young pine trees) Post of the Korean People's Army, he made over 353 576 km-long forced marches of the Songun revolutionary leadership till the last moments of his life, firmly defending Juche-based socialism and turning the country into an invincible political, ideological and military power. This was a historic miracle that

could be performed only by him.

He put forward the People's Army, the core of military power, as the pillar and main force for the Songun revolution and developed it into an invincible revolutionary army.

Thanks to his seasoned and tested Songun leadership as an illustrious commander, the most powerful military muscle was built in the briefest span of time despite the harshest ordeals and Songun Korea was turned into an

invincible military power that can firmly defend socialism.

It was one of his great exploits shining along with the era of Songun that he turned the country into a politico-ideological power which achieved the single-minded unity.

The 3rd Conference of the Workers' Party of Korea, which was convened in the crucial turning point of history for the development of the WPK and the revolution, demonstrated the strong spirit of the harmonious whole in which all the service personnel and people achieved the unity in ideology and will and shared their idea, intention and destiny with their leader.

Kim Jong Il also made a breakthrough in the drive for building a thriving nation by applying the Songun politics to economic construction.

He made self-sacrificing forced marches to visit work sites for a great surge, racing against time. Thanks his dedication, eye-opening events took place one after another.

The last three years of his great life during which he made tireless guerilla-style journeys for field guidance after mapping out a great plan to glorify 2012 marking the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung as an year of proud victory to be specially recorded in the history of building a thriving nation were a review of the popular and heroic life of a legendary great man that the history has never known.
