With the anniversary, the people in the DPRK are recalling with deep emotion the glorious history of the Songun revolution in Korea.

Songun was a fixed principle and a mode of revolutionary struggle maintained by Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in their whole life.

Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, the first armed forces in Korea, and defeated the formidable Japanese and U.S. imperialists in one generation. He trained the Korean People's Army to be a-match-for-a hundred armed forces and put all the people under arms and turned the whole country into a fortress, thus providing a powerful military guarantee for the country's sovereignty and the nation's eternal prosperity.

Setting it as his lifelong mission to carry forward to completion the Songun revolutionary cause pioneered by Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il had led the Korean revolution always to victory with his rare wisdom, distinguished commanding art and matchless courage.

He wisely guided the work to turn the KPA into an army of the leader and party under the banner of modeling the entire army on Kimilsungism.

When the imperialists' anti-DPRK moves reached an extreme, he pursued the Songun politics in all aspects to put forward the KPA as the main forces of the revolution and bolster up the nation's defence capabilities.

He made a ceaseless journey to visit every military post in the country and devoted all his possible efforts to updating the nation's defence industry.

The great Generalissimos' cause of Songun has been creditably carried forward by Marshal Kim Jong Un. His continued inspection of the military units and posts gives great courage and strength to all the men and officers of the KPA.

The servicepersons and civilians in the DPRK are now hardening their will to dynamically advance along the road of the Songun revolution, rallied closer around their supreme leader Kim Jong Un, for the eternal prosperity of Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea.
