DPRK Will Remain Loyal to Principle and Idea of NAM: Papers
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- Today marks the 39th anniversary of the DPRK's admission into the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

On this occasion papers Monday in articles say the DPRK will as ever remain loyal to the principle and idea of the NAM and make all efforts to strengthen it.

The DPRK's admission into the NAM marked an important occasion in increasing the ranks of the NAM and putting spurs to strengthening it, Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on:

The DPRK has played a positive role in developing the NAM.

The whole proud course covered by the NAM and its steady development would be unthinkable without the outstanding ideological and theoretical activities and leadership feats of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who paid deep attention to developing the NAM into a powerful engine in the present era.

Entering the new century, the DPRK has firmly adhered to its idea and principle.

The prevailing situation urgently requires the member nations of the NAM including the DPRK to remain true to its basic idea and mission.

The international tensions and the danger of a war are increasing and acute and complicated issues are presenting themselves before the international community. This is entirely attributable to the moves of the imperialists for aggression and interference in internal affairs of other countries.

The NAM should wage a dynamic struggle to realize global independence, prevent a nuclear war, terminate colonialism and racism, accomplish the cause of national liberation, achieve South-South cooperation and self-sustenance in economy and establish a new international order.

Minju Joson says the history of the NAM is associated with the leadership feats Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il performed by developing the NAM, adding that it will grow stronger along with the victorious advance of the era of independence.
