The great Comrade Kim Jong Il started his Songun revolutionary leadership on August 25, 1960, true to the intention of Comrade Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea.

Kim Jong Il put forward the Korean People's Army as the main force for the socialist cause and saw to it that the whole society learned from the revolutionary soldier spirit created in the army.

He also laid down the line of economic construction in the era of Songun for simultaneously developing light industry and agriculture while preferentially developing defence industry, thus providing a sure guarantee for developing the national economy despite the ever-more undisguised moves of the imperialists to stifle the DPRK.

Thanks to his Songun leadership the Korean People's Army grew to be a matchless army equipped with modern offensive and defensive means and the DPRK turned into a nuclear weapons state and satellite producer and launcher.

Under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un the army and people of the DPRK will win only victory under the uplifted great banner of Songun in the future, too.
