KPA Service Personnel Meet to Vow Their Pledge
Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- Service personnel of the Korean People's Army held a meeting to vow their pledge "Pledge of faith of young vanguard to uphold the Songun cause of Mt. Paektu with arms" before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il at the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces on Wednesday on the occasion of the Youth Day.

Present there were KPA General Hyon Yong Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces, officials of the ministry, service personnel of the Ground, Naval and Air and Anti-Air Forces, cadets of military academies at various levels and students of revolutionary schools.

They laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statues and paid tribute to them in the humblest reverence.

Om Hyang Chol, chairman of the KPA committee of the youth league, made a speech at the meeting.

The hearts of the young vanguard tightly holding the arms of Mt. Paektu are filled with profound reverence for the President and Kim Jong Il who worked heart and soul to develop the Korean youth movement, he said.

He stressed the need for all service personnel to invariably preserve the President's and Kim Jong Il's idea of the youth movement and their feats, glorify them eternally and bring earlier the reunification of the country and the final victory in the drive for the building of a thriving nation true to the Songun leadership of respected Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un.

Then followed speeches.

There took place a dancing party of KPA service personnel to celebrate the Youth Day.
